Fernwood Access - A1 Overbridge

The primary access to Fernwood Village is via the A1 overbridge. Newark and Sherwood District Council (NSDC) identified enlarging the bridge as key priority and in 2019 secured a feasibility study into the options available to provided an additional traffic lane over the A1. In addition to NSDC, Nottinghamshire County Council and The Highways Agency are also involved. No progress appears to have been made with the results of a new feasibility study being expected in 2026. The 2019 feasibility study is available below.
